Protecting National Security Is Essential

There are a few things that we have a right to assume about the next President of the United States. We should assume that our President will be loyal to the United States and repect our flag and Constitution. As Commander in Chief, we should assume that he will do everything within his power to protect our country from harm both foreign and domestic, and hold our men and women in uniform in the highest esteem. We should assume that in his actions and words he will attempt to promote unity and peace among all Americans.

We should also assume that he will be discreet in his dealings in all matters involving national security. It should not be asking too much to assume that the President of the United States will not put politics over duty to the country.

We are fortunate to have men and women who have and are continuing to risk their lives to gather intelligence for America. Some have been imprisoned or given their lives for our country. Their missions are often extremely dangerous and they have a right to assume that the next President of the United States will protect them and their missions to the best of his ability. Our troops, citizens, and allies depend on it.

National security is essential.
